I'm not mad, just a little bit sad, and disappointed that our friends didn't let me know that you wanted something ultra-high performance for you editing and storage needs! We're going to build one and see how it stacks up against a Jellyfish!. Find out how we did this with Patrick Kennedy from servethehome.com/

Linus, this video was useful to know that you can spend around the same ($30k) and make a 'better' overall unit. But, does this also imply that it is NOT possible to spend less to build a more affordable server (for non-YouTubers)? Just asking!

Ohh man!! Linus is a good guy. When he said, guys I got your back.

The thing is, that if you say Linus, MKBHD, and iJustine are tech reviewers, that would be an incorrect statement.
Linus is a pure tech enthusiast, whereas, MKBHD is a guy just like us who likes cool looking flashy stuff but he isn't passionate about technology, and for iJustine I wud say is just a fan girl who reads of the product description.
The thing is when you have money you don't give a shit just pay 35k and be lazy as fuck. But if you're truly passionate you will take interest in what you're getting and put time in it.

wonder who this was directed to EH?

Now if people actually thought about what was said for a second and fucken realize that it's not soley revolving around the cost of the hardware for what you get. I'm sure Lumaforge provides great service. But so would a good IT consulting company. Not only would they be able to source parts, build and implement the damn server in a clients office for them but be able to provide ON SITE support in the event support is needed.

Then there's the fact that these 3 channels that bought that shit tout themselves as fucken tech channels. And they're not just any tech channel, they're 3 of the largest ones on fucken youtube. These channels are getting paid to "influence" people to buy shit when they themselves don't even have the technical knowledge on what the hell it is they're trying to sell unless it's a cell phone, laptop or camera. And even then we still get retarded comments from MKBHD saying they can't think of a use for a stylus. I mean this is something so incredibly fucken simple. Such a simple tool....and this guy can't think of a reason to use it as if he's never used paper and pencil before.

They release a video about this new Jellyfish product that they just got and instead of putting out a proper informative video about it, they put out a video of garbage that doesn't explain anything about the product so anyone watching who's looking for a potentional solution can't fucken weigh in the pros and cons of what they're getting when compared to an alternative and are expected to make a decision on a "hey look what this thing does! now pay $40,000 for it". The Jellyfish has 8 10g nics on it and of the 3 channels that bought this thing, 2 of them made videos on it and neither of them mentions the fact that they can be used for Link aggregation which would allow more than 8 client machines to connect to it at once without using that retarded direct connection.

And this is coming from someone who doesn't have experience with any machine that has 8 fucken 10g nics on it. Maybe i'm wrong and you can't bond 8 10g nics yet. I know when I was messing around with my NAS, i found out i couldn't use any type of LAG network scheduler except round robin because 10g is different than 1g. And if i'm wrong on being able to use all 8 10g nics for nic bonding, then that's why i fucken criticize them so harshly because that type of shit would actually be useful information.

Lastly Lumaforge withholding technical information on their product when potential customers ask is such an incredibly shady thing to do. If they can't be transparent in what the hell it is they're selling, then it's probably not worth buying.

btw. Tell Luke he's a fucken bitch.

I hope you look into this for future videos, thanks...

You make stupid servers which are inefficient. Its funny how this idiot linus was criticising the company and black youtube but in the end of the video he has completely opposite tone. Fucking dickhead.

I primarily used mechanical due to using older computers and not knowing that they have NAS based SSDs. I still would like to know if I can still benefit from NAS SSDs because I don't have any lag trying to access files.
