But isn't the bigger question if 240hz is better than 144hz? We already know, that 144hz is better than 60hz so I dont really get the point of the video. Would have been so easy to use the time of making that video to make an even better video :|

Why is it always the guys who can build/buy the most powerful equipment are never good at gaming 🤣 either youre bottlenecked by your hardware or youre bottlenecked by your skill, you cant overcome both!!

Is 144hz good? I just got a dell 27 inch monitor with g sync and my computer has a 2070 super, 64 gigs of ram, you think that’s a pretty good experience? Or do i gotta go get the 240hz now?

At the end of the day any time there is more data to work with on a reflexive level the faster you react.

                    Video at a refresh rate of 240 Hz is 4:1 @ 60 Hz, 2:1 @ 120 Hz.

The movement being more fluid creates a smoother gradient between reactive events. At 60 Hz, one frame can mean SHOOT now, but that same frame would present itself at 240 Hz with three preemptive frames, providing a higher probability of identifying the reactive event 12 milliseconds earlier to a well trained hand-eye coordination.

But the brain has to be rapid enough to appreciate the benefit of 4 ms versus 16 ms. How long does it take the brain to tell the left hand to click? A few miliseconds, believe it or not. So shaving even 4 ms off of that time can be significant proportionally. Signals can take 15 to 30 milliseconds to manifest as volontary motor function.

So, on paper, and rationally, 240 Hz wins.

Perceptually, a person may not "see" a huge difference between 120 and 240 or 8ms and 4ms, but the brain sure as hell does.

Another interesting measurement would be how long it takes for the player to simply react to the target coming into view. This is an important aspect of of being a good player in any shooter. It would probably have to be tested in a different way, since if the player already knows where the target will appear it wouldn't produce interesting results IMO. Rather, have the target appear at a random location, and test it in a game like Fortnite or PUBG where the scope of the players vision covers a larger area. Then have the player fire the weapon or click the mouse or whatever as soon as the player comes into view. I'd imagine that the higher refresh rate would make it easier to detect movement than the lower refresh rate. So, ultimately, test for reaction speed in response to movement.

Why does no one ever mention the FEEL of higher refresh rate? It's hardly ever about what the EYES see... You try aiming with 30 or 60fps and then try 120+ and the FEELING is night and day. You simply feel like you have much more control, and that's the end of it.

Eye sight ain't shit in comparison to how the game feels to play. You literally have more control because there are more frames for the mouse to move. If you were to slow it down a RIDICULOUS amount, 60FPS would be like playing Guitar Hero on easy mode where there are less notes to hit while 120+ is like playing on Hard where there are lots of notes to hit, except instead of notes there are frames for which you can make a different split second decision per frame. That is a retarded comparison but it's pretty hard to explain what I mean lol.

IT's not just what the eye can see what matters. A human can detect flicker up to 800Hz so higher frequency matters for eye and brain fatigue. So If you play for more than 30 minutes, it will make a difference on your ability to perfom.

There's already studies into this, the numbers would surprise you.... 177fps is the highest speed ever recorded, 142fps were the average, for a group of active "senior" veteran jet-fighter pilots, whose life literally depended on them being able to observe extremely fast. So *OFCAUSE* 240 is gonna win over 60hz..... Do the test with 144hz vs 240hz, the price difference in monitors and required hardware to run those smooth are insane

I dont think this is how it works. For me (though i dont have a pc) a high fps pc would give u advantage in action/shooting games.. when u turn or rotate ur character really fast then you'd have more frames in between that turning. And that will help u to decide what to do next.

But if ur noob than it wont make any difference

If you are an average or above average play, 240 hz wont make you suddenly good. But if you are a good-great player who is already consistent. It will make you better, quicker and more consistent.
