They push the "can't trust video evidence anymore" narrative to cover their asses in case we ever get videos of what they did on Jeffrey Epstein's island. "It was a deepfake you guise, it's not me holding this teenage sex slave by the waist". That's what Prince Andrew just did, he claimed the picture of himself with Virginia Roberts was a fake.

This will finally destroy society. We already can’t trust anything the media reports on. Soon, there will be totally realistic videos of anybody doing and saying anything you want to create. Think about the potential for that. Wars can be started that way. Politicians, and worse yet, their supporters will wreak havoc. This stuff scares me more than all the other social media damage, by far.

Imagine, someone uses this powerful engine to copy some face of the worlds dictators and they threaten the USA with war. I think combined with copied speach it is a risky tool to do thinks we can't undone.

Especially in this times where there are politicians - lets say with no brain in their heads - they don't ask for proove. They just overacting and maybe one day they bring us in big trouble.

Is there anything we can truly say is beyond faking or lying about?...
If anything I think this just highlights the fact that, often, much of the truth is simply as true as the loudest voice shouting it.
If enough people believe someone did something terrible it doesn’t really matter what’s law and what isnt. People suffer very real personal damage from being framed and nobody is the wiser for their plight... Legality and consequences for breaking it is rather secondary in something like this.
Get enough people on board with a claim and you’ve done the damage.
                    Its scary,

All deepfakes created so far are easily spotted. Only morons think this is, at its current level, dangerous for anyone except idiots.

So it's incredibly dangerous in the USA. We have people who believe in demons and goblins and frankensteins. We're fucked.

Interesting how a whole audience is laughing, cheering and applauding how someone can make anyone say what ever they want simply by typing it in - kind of like Igor (Fritz) cheering and clapping over the first breath taken by Frankenstein's monster. "The scientist (program engineers) are so busy working out *HOW* to do this, they never stop to decide whether they *SHOULD* do it."

I went to school for multimedia production back in 2001 so I have known all about... 'photoshop' ( for lack of better term) I'm not just pictures but video for almost 2 decades. Glad to see that the ever-trusting turn-on-you-in-a-second public is finally catching on.

Britney Spears actually told the public on her personal website 10 years ago a lot of the trash mags and celebrity gossip shows all use photoshopped footage. They don't let her have editing access to her website anymore. But recently she has started pointing this out again on her Instagram in a very obvious way. Good on her.

So the positive aspect is they can recreate actors for movies and save some money and the negative is rampant fakes of people that weren't there and didn't say the things they said, potentially leading to unfounded mistrust by many who are not even aware of the technology and creating all-around paranoia.

Those videos include Democrats, republicans, celebrities, lawyers, judges, doctors, police, CIA, FBI...anyone that is high up that they can use to cover for one another....even the autopsy medical examiner!

Do you really think in the future movie industries will be paying millions of dollars for an actor? Hell no, they will computer generate an actor that people will love and it wont be a real person to pay.

However, there will always be a signature of a fake. Even the best fakes are never as good as the original. Studied frame by frame with a very competent, extremely observant individual or program (as or more sophisticated), one can weed out the fake.

It could be for a Chineese phone advertisement or a Croation toothpaste, but you'll never know or be paid for your likeness because you sold it when you took a photo/video of yourself. Not even private videos on your phone are 'private' because in most Terms of Service's for most mobile phones, the company that owns the phone, own any contents that is stored on it. What the company decides to do with it is completely out of your control because you probably quickly scrolled through the ToS just to hit 'agree.' I hope you know what you got yourselves into.

Are you tribal focused or individual focused? Do you have the need to be liked and approved by the masses? Or is self approval where you get your power?

I ask these questions because this is why technology has advanced to this point. I don’t follow the masses. Never have never will. I even stopped owning a computer. I have an iPhone 6S. That’s it. I am not on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

It’s time to really evaluate your power people. Who owns it? You or technology?

Really think about what this means to you.
