The reason you can only force safe search and not filter individual queries is that Google uses HTTPS, so the Bitdefender box would have to MITM your connection to Google, which would trigger a security warning. Google forces HTTPS through HSTS preloading, therefore you can't add a security exception for Google in your browser. You'd have to install a root certificate from the Bitdefender box, at which point someone who hacks the box could steal cookies from your bank website while you're browsing Facebook, so it would make your network *less* secure.

The proper way to do it is just to intercept DNS queries for (www.) and return CNAME, which Google sets up for exactly that purpose. Your browser then loads from the redirected IP and Google returns a valid HTTPS certificate. The censorship is done by Google, not by the Bitdefender device, because any "security" device that works by breaking encryption would be self-defeating.

I approve of enlighting a broader audience of .. caution. I don't approve of first pointing out possible ingress-points, and then putting in an cloud-connected appliance.. with the rest of the stuffs..

The fact that it's a node on your network instead of between you and the internet (like a firewall) confuses me greatly. I have serious doubts of it's protective capabilities. Sure it overtakes all your devices and has great kid protection. But otherwise 👎

I was right... Quote "keeping track of all your devices, giving you info about their weaknesses and showing you how to secure them." They just tell you what to do. LMAO really good protection. R u joking.

Sweet- so there's no need to have to scan and target a device in a list of all your connected stuff.. I JUST need to break into your BitDefender device! :D This is what's called having a device has access to everything and thus my first go-to if I'm going to pentest lol

Basic internet security (As in, the least you can do): Don't let every random device on the internet. If my router supported whitelisting of devices I would use it, but for now I'll have to settle for putting the MAC adresses in a block list.

I used to use Bitdefender for years after they were voted best antivirus by PC gamer. Thats back when antivirus software actually did something. It does nothing now. Even just a few years ago when I did still have Bitdefender as my antivirus. I ended up getting a replicating virus. Bitdefender and windows security did shit all. I used Malwarebytes to slow it down enough to trace and destroy it myself. Never used an antivirus since. They are all scams now. Point is, Im skeptical of Bitdefender and any antivirus product. I've had zero issues running no antivirus for the last 3 or 4 years.

I have been trying out the BitDefender BOX 2 for the last 6 months and it's full of bugs and is a nightmare if you have an advanced network setup of any kind. It's great for family and friends who don't know much about tech, but everything is so locked down and it doesn't have a lot of the basic features that even my ISP router has.

I had 5 Credit Cards all maxed out, I was in a sorry state. A divorce and foreclosure put me on a spiral down financially. My credit score suffered for it, I needed a loan to stay afloat but none was forthcoming after a handful of applications, it was a frustrating period of my life. I stumbled on lots of testimonies about people who got out of credit mess like mine with the help of hackers. I wondered for days and decided to try out, It was not successful on two occasions and lost my money. On a final trial I contacted  CREDITSMARTSPY @ GMAIL DOT COM +1(305)-912-6941 and he got it done. Like some magic my score went up from 540 to 820 and deleting negative collections. Did I mention it was all for an appreciable fee? Yes it was.

Seems a bit strange to say "hey we'll secure your network" and at the sametime provide us all your data so we can store it on our servers.

Is it a wifi proxy that the cameras have to connect to? Is it a gateway device? How does it work alongside existing meshed WiFi? Is it any different to the family zone box that's basically just an expensive web proxy? This seems to have been a 12 minute ad with basically no technical information at all. I'm interested and disappointed at the same time.
