Hey there scotty. I was recently gifted a brand new 2019 jeep renegade. Brand new, had 12 miles from test drive when I got in it. I know Jeeps arent particularly the best quality and technically the renegade is a fiat. But is this car worth keeping? I barely drive like 800 miles a month on a busy month. It's going to be a daily driver. The car has no 4x4 or anything like that.

      Our shop truck is a 2015 F-150 XLT. It's a 4X2 with the V6 Ecoboost I believe.

The two previous shop managers were lazy assholes who never kept up with anything. The truck was absolutely trashed. We did a ton of service on the truck, got her a new battery, cleaned her up.

She has 94,000 miles on her and the mechanic recommended a transmission fluid change. However the fleet company said since it hasn't been done before they won't authorize it. The mechanic was a little concerned that if the service isn't done it could cause more problems down the road. But the fleet company says changing the fluid could open up a "can of worms"

Anyone have any thoughts either way? Not sure how much longer we'll have the truck but it seems like an unnecessary wall put up to avoid paying for necessary service.

We purchased a 2016 Yukon Denali with 40,000 miles. 11 months ago. A friend that works at the service dept at GM looked over warranty repairs for me said go for it. It's clean. I bought it. To date. New rear taillight led($975) internal transmission temp sensor($1400) front shocks leaking oil($900) AC condenser($1525) power seat track($675) radio volume knob not working($745)...GM fanboys I'll make you a great deal. They are junk. 61,000 miles to date. Come get it.

My 06 Trailblazer with the 4.2 Vortec I6 has been a great truck. It's got 167k on it and it runs like a top. No leaks, no codes and good power for a 6 cylinder. It feels like a V8 under the hood. It's not fancy, but everything works. I'll drive it till the wheels fall off.

They are not that bad... They are completely terrible. That's my guess. I remember my 05 Silverado awd SS and my 05 GMC Sierra 4.3l 5 speed. Both great trucks, both had the same exact problems... Aside from rolling over and driving into a tree, would be that evap crap. The interior would shake crack pop sqeek rattle and roll if you hit any washboards like in the ol late 90s blazer was the worst.

The 2017 currently has 124,000 and has also had only one mechanical failure (seat belt receiver). When my cars get to 100k miles I replace: Main drive belt, spark plugs, coil pack, thermostat, all cooling system hoses and clamps, trans fluid, anti-freeze, front and rear brakes. Is this a good idea for preventive maintenance? Or is it overkill?

I know people that got rid of late 80's early 90's models because they had lots of problems. I will never buy another and plan on going through my 76, so when my 2015 craps out....I'll still have something to push it out of the driveway with......lol......
