Hey Scotty I doubt you'll see this but just in case theres a 2006 lexus gs 300 awd for $7,900 with 81k miles close to me and it says 1 owner, what do you think? Great price or too expensive? I'm tight on money and being a college student I want a reliable car that could have me kind of saving some money. Thanks I hope I get a reply.

Scotty I am looking at a 2004 Volkswagen Passat with 56,000 miles. My wife won't drive that much, like less than 12,000 a year. Should I buy it? Also it says recommended premium gas. Could I get buy with regular non-ethanol gas?

This is what gets me every time I'm watching Scotty, he really can't work on the European cars and therefore he loathes anything car that has advance technologies he has no idea how to repair.

When I was in high school, the first Accord with Fuel Injection just came out. Cars are harder to fix on your own when compared to the 70s and the 80s, anything older than 2006 Scotty will have a hard time.

However, this is still a very interesting channel to watch as the entertaining factor remains relatively high... 😄

Hey Scotty... I know you have so many subs and can't respond to most ppl. But I need your advice. I've been looking at buying a pre-owned large SUV under 20k that's super dependable. My research has informed me that a 06-09 Lexus LX460 or same years Toyota Land Cruiser. I've heard their built like a tank, run forever, and overall are great vehicles..... Your two cents?

But truth be told some mechanics are plain dumb. I have an old rover 214i. I asked the local mechanic if he would change my timing belt and just a regular maintenance job and he said no that its too complex etc. And that he repairs only audis and vw. Another guy took the job and by the time i finished my job he was done with his. The rotor and sparkplug was an easy home job. The best is when you see the engine and you can easily find and change that part.
          Scotty you are the best!!!!

I too thought that the slave cylinder design in transmission that Ford did was a dumb idea. I always wondered about how to do the brakes on those Jaguars and now I know.

My 2010 Tacoma had the clutch master cylinder INSIDE the cabin! What a clusterf*ck. It always made noise when pressing the clutch pedal. The whole clutch system and the 5 speed manual transmission were a constant nighmare. Throw-out bearing was replaced twice on warranty. Transmission was always grinding gears. Response from Toyota - "It's perfectly normal" WTF? LOL!
I only buy Toyota models made in Japan, with 100% Japanese parts. Quality is 100 times better.

Amen re: the ridiculous practice of using a concentric "doughnut" clutch slave cylinder. My '77 SAAB 99 EMS ("extra mean Saab") used this design, and sure enough, it failed after only a couple of years. Ended up changing the clutch and pressure plate after going through all the trouble to access it.
