Hey Scotty, Autel AP200(HT200) bidirectional scanner....what's your opinion, any experience with it?

I got screwed on my last autel & this one is $69 (yup even that is a big purchase for me) looks good, say it's the same as the MK808/MX808 minus the bulky box & price.

Scotty is bang on about autonomous vehicles. My question is: "Who is driving this 'demand' for autonomous"? People generally like driving, not willing to pay much more to have "others" drive them (e.g. back seat driving) and risk expensive vehicles on computers getting things right each and every second in the random world. I just don't understand where this perceived demand for autonomous driving is coming from and getting the auto market so turned on.

About that uber car that run over the pedestrian, from what i heard was that the car DID try to warn and brake the car, but uber had the manufacturer's system disabled (the system that was trying to brake the car), because it only cares that something is infront. It doesn't care what it is. The moment it sees something it brakes.
Uber had its own system testing it and that was the thing that failed. So i'm really blaming uber for this, not the car maker.

Scotty, I need you! I just took my 1999 Mercedes E class into the Mercedes dealer. The ASR BAS light has been on for a while. Got in my car the other night and cranked and started to back out and the brakes started pulsating like crazy. Now they tell me it is a BAS control unit that will cost me $1400 dollars! Funny thing is, when the tow truck got there the next morning. He cranked then put it in reverse and it was not pulsating any longer but I took it in. Am I getting scammed?

To balance out the tragedy, the family should not be liable for damages to the vehicle. Insurance should start covering autopilot accidents.

If a simple fuel pump, even a door handle need replacing shortly after you buy the car, what can you expect of the high technology junk?

They look at the rules of the road, and fail to consider the causes of accidents. Then testing procedures are so short to rush these vehicles to market, with little to no real world scenarios. Lastly, many of these vehicles can’t detect cars that are too small or have two high of ride height for the camera systems, and don’t track in real time. Elon himself has stated that if you put the wrong cameras on these cars, they will kill people or destroy themselves.

In addition, the Volvo's own built-in automatic emergency braking system detected the bicyclist almost 2 seconds before impact (enough time to reduce speed significantly), but they had disabled that system. While I agree that self-driving systems are nowhere near ready, the Uber engineers made a couple poor decisions that almost certainly would have saved the woman's life despite the software not being ready, and despite the "safety driver" watching The Voice on her phone when she should have been paying attention to the road.
