I’ve only gone twice in my life, the first time I went I had 20/20 vision. I went back over 2 months ago and then I found out that I needed glasses. 😅

The plus side of having an eye condition yourself is that you know all the test and know if the scans are good.

i hate going to the eye doctor since they make me take my glasses off and i can only see a few inches in front of me without it being blurry. so when i have no glasses and they make me walk to the other room i have to hold on to my mom cause i can’t see wear the wall ends and feel for the chair, i’m not even blind, just have horrible eye sight.

I have very bad vision that is progressively getting worse. My doctors have no idea why either. I’ve had tons of tests and there are only a few things wrong with my eyes but those things shouldn’t cause what’s happening to me. I’m very scared that one day I’ll be blind. Last I was checked, my vision was too bad for even laser eye surgery too..

I have strabismus. I had my first surgery a month before my first birthday. Second was when I was 3. Last one was when I was 27. I suffered with vision problems after the 2nd surgery for 15 years before I finally saw a eye doctor who actually was like your vision isn’t great and you need glasses. Eye specialist I saw as a baby up until I was 8 or 9 kept telling my parents my vision was fine even though I had a hard time seeing in class. Pat’s to get a second opinion.

This kind of helps me, I have a pretty bad allergy to most metals and I didn’t know some eye test involved those metals.

I don't have rp. I do have a rare brain disease that effects my optic nerves. I did go blind at the beginning of my diagnosis and that was stressful waking up blind, like a thick black veil over my eyes. But Thankfully after my lumbar puncture and drain access fluid my vision came back which was. A miracle. But... Over the last five years my one eye optic nerve is getting worse and blurry vision. I do need to wesr glasses now. I get my eyes dilated too and many test and they are exhausting.

It’s interesting hearing a young take on RP. my mum, my aunt and my grandmother all have RP, so I’ve only ever heard an older person take on it.
My Grandmother and aunt are both completely blind but my mum has like 2% left but does also have tunnel vision and just this last 2 years had cataracts removed from both eyes and the start of diabetic eye disease.

Do you have a family history of RP?
With my family they can’t trace it back beyond my grandmother and it’s seems to have disappeared just as quickly. My mums older sister and brother don’t have RP but she and her younger sister do and no grandchildren or great grandchildren have it.
