just tried it yesterday for the first time and honestly...its a game-changer. way easier than I thought it would be, even and like for me as a visually-impaired person with mobility limitations. I definitely recommend doing your research first to learn what cup might be best for you and tips and tricks. Made my fist use pretty easy and hassle-free. ZIt can seem so gross, scary or daunting and I was definitely so nervous but dang I am NEVER going back. So nice to not have to change a tampon all the time and not worry

I guess it would have been easier to get out if u break the seal. After finding the stem, u have to pinch the base of the cup, then wiggle it out, so much easier.

It's unrealistic to think that trying a cup for one period will give you the full experience. It took me a few periods to get the hang of it, and once you do, it's really life-altering. I literally forget I have my period most of the time. There are no "air bubbles." I can only imagine that Safiya didn't get the cup in properly or didn't get it to unfold all the way and seal. Once it's sealed, it's basically watertight, unless you're about to flow over. Then yeah, you gotta change it. I'm a heavy bleeder and bleed through even when I use BOTH super tampons and pads. Certain cups (I use the Super Jennie) have amazing capacity. No more leaking for me!

I dislike that I'm not the only person who slept with a giant towel under my bed when my period started. I hate my body so much... right now I'm on new BC because mine wouldn't stop after 3 weeks. I'm debating the IUD as I really don't want the D&C so thank you for giving me other alternatives in *case* I need it when the period starts in three months.

People I know: I use pads because tampons hurt.

Me: I use tampons but this cup scares the crap out of me.

                              1) I hate dealing with bloody tampons anyways so a cup full of blood is like *holy shit*
                              2) I'm afraid it will get stuck

I just bought my first diva cup today. I’m hoping to never again have to spend money on pads, tampons, bla bla. 😂 really. It does get expensive over time. If any one out there has been using the cup, let me know how well it really works. I’m hoping they don’t leak as I’m very active- I’m a female MMA Fighter. I’d really hate to leak in the ring🥺😂😂 I guess I’m asking: is it just hype, or is it really an effective product. Thank you👍

It works really well for me, I love it. Those who are v active might have very strong (vaginal?) muscles--- so you might want to consider a cup that's not too sturdy.

Cups are disgusting and unhygenic stick to disposable pads and tampons girls much safer and far less risk of infection

@Rachel is My Angel Yes, I don't think cups are for people who don't understand how basic hygiene works, they might not understand how to take care of their cup properly with their limited understanding of simple things. It's best you stick to tampons and pads. Just change them often enough and clean your hands well before handling them.

@Rachel is My Angel you're supposed to sterilize it before and after each period. It's also recommended to use (cup friendly) soap while cleaning it when you empty it or use sterilizing wipes to do that too.

It definitely takes practice. You have to stick your fingers up and grab the base of the cup. The stem is worthless. That removes the suction and makes it easier to take out. I always wear a cloth liner with it. And have no qualms after getting used to it!

I just wipe it out with tissue in public places. It will be okay for one change because your body just cleans itself out. I understand that is preference though. Also, usually you don’t need to change it in public places because it lasts so long.

I've always used pads. I only tried tampons a couple years ago and I never wanted to go back to wearing pads. It just feels comfortable. Wearing pads feels like there's something heavy between my legs and it has a smell everytime I use the toilet. I rarely had problems with cramps tho. I also use ones with applicator as I don't know if I can put it properly by myself. I guess menstrual cups ia the same but it is reusable. It's just too much of a hassle for me

My boyfriend calls my diva cup my butt cup lol. I don’t even remember how that started. I get horrible cramps from my IUD and it helps a lot sometimes. I don’t really know why. If you break the seal on the cup and wiggle it back and forth slightly while removing it it makes it super easy. Taking it out is a lot easier than putting it in! I can’t do it standing up either though. Good luck to anyone reading this lol they’re nothing to be scared of

And question#2: is anyone else disgusted by the yt ad that pops up for a similar product with the Asian girl sayin how she “likes to F%#*”? That was just too much for me, maybe bcuz I have an 8 yr old daughter that I would freak if she saw that ad maybe I’m just prude but I’ve never been modest or ashamed of my womanhood, I just think it deserves more respect than that.

Both absorb as it flows naturally and tampons should be the limit. You're not so bright. So you must be one of those who likes a cup of blood in your pussy for hours..just sayin'😂😂😂

Something I would definitely try it this way maybe once I am “used to it” I might not carry an extra cup in bag.

I carry a bottle with me for cleaning the cup in public (that I fill at the bathroom sinks) but cup wipes are also a thing that exist

Just got my Diva cup last month and here’s my review so far🖤🖤
                                                                      1. You know when you gotta hold your tampon string out of the way when you shit and piss? You don’t have to do that with this.
                                                                      2. Pads always ended up smelling and were bulky. Tampons always ended up smelling and I had to change them a lot (my period is hella heavy). With the cup I can sit with my legs OPEN and there’s no friggin smell! Like wat?
                                                                      3. They’re surprisingly easy to use. Insertion and taking it out is like 10 secs at most when you get used to it
                                                                      4. Any time I would wear a tampon in water it would absorb the water and I’d bleed through my swimsuit. Not with this. (I live in southern Louisiana and it was pretty warm till recently)
                                                                      4. Id always get blood around my vagina with tampons and have to use wipes (same when I used pads) I don’t have that problem with the cup AT. ALL.

I think the only thing is to remember to change it and my labia is also pretty big and the first time putting it in I felt the stem on my labia and it was SOOO uncomfortable but after moving around it worked it’s way into a good position and I also learned how to insert it better so I don’t have that problem anymore. You can also trim the stem if needed

I love it sm and I’m never going back!!

I am pretty sure she won't be angry or anything (In case you were afraid of that.) and will help you a lot. =)
(Anyway for beginners, I would recommend pads, since they don't hurt at all (since you don't have to stick them in like the others). You just have to be careful of leakage.)

Anyway, good luck. You can do it. =)

I am a cup user and love it. the air bubbles you felt I had them too and found that they came when the cup was full but also if it wasn't in properly. took me 2 months to get used to it (2 rounds of periods) but I won't go back to anything else. the price of it compared to buying tampons every month and less landfill. the stories of girls going into shock from a tampon they forgot because of the chemicals used to make them, the cup is safer.
