Scotty Kilmer i was driving on the turn like going around 80 with traffic going from 70-90 back and forth and randomly I hear screaming coming from the engine. Pulled off to the nearest rest area and let the car sit for 30 min. Never heard it again? Any ideas ? Maybe a belt ?

@Panda Grove There are 2 schools of thought on those. Penetrating oil on plugs and a small impact wrench is one way. The other is penetrating oil and a slow, steady pull with a breaker bar.
The Triton, like many Fords, have insufficient cooling around the combustion chambers.

Older 1st gen chevy starters, you could buy a set of brushes for $5. And flip over the copper contactor in the solenoid.
If the bendix gear was still good and the bushing in the nose of the starter, you could get a few more years out of it, doing what I outlined above.

Thank you for all your great informative videos. I am learning from your free advice based on your auto experiences.
We purchased our 2016 Chevy Malibu LTD off our lease and I will never allow the dealership anywhere near my car ever again. They don't maintain cars, they break them. They are thieves and liars. I went for windshield wipers and an oil change. They ran the wipers without the rubber blades and ruined my windshield. The scratched glass expanded and we had to replace the windshield.
The did not attach my oil filter correctly and I had to refill my engine with 2 gallons of full synthetic oil over a few weeks time. They cracked the gasket on my driver's side headlight and told me that I had an accident. They stalled the repair until my warranty expired. Then there are unnecessary repair threats. They told me that fluid and filter changes after miles driven recommended in my car manual are regional recommendations and not for our location. The wrote up a $2,000 estimated bill.. We don''t drive in the mountains and deserts. Liars-thieves. I fled the evil-doers. Hearing these comments should help people realize that we and our cars are being screwed.
However, it is a good car. My maintenance is provided by local mechanics independent from Chevy/ GM mechanics.
As I search for a Certified used Toyota or Honda with around 30,000 miles and about 4 yrs old, I am extremely concerned with all the recalls. Made in the USA cars do not have the quality control procedures that are implemented by Toyota and Honda cars made in Japan-excluding their airbags. My 2002 Toyota Camry assembled in Japan was great. My local NY Toyota dealer would not accept it for routine maintenance work because it was made in Japan.
I was ripped off by a mechanic who stole the car from under me due to my lack of knowledge. I am thinking that if I don't buy a Mazda or Subaru, I am once again stupid is as stupid does.

All my engines make ticking noises. They always have since day 1. 1993 Nissan Sentra, 2000 Honda civic, 1995 toyota camry. They tick like a chevy ecotec motor. I've adjusted valve lash, timing etc. Some engines are just ticky. Mitsubishi makes engines like ticking inside of a tin can.

My 2012 Toyota Prius C makes a grinding noise when the engine starts. The noise is highest usually when I start the car in the morning(there is no noise at all at anytime when the car is fully running on the battery)As i drive the car more the noise reduces. After about 1 hour of driving the noise is almost fully gone. What could be the problem?

Hey scotty, I recently got a 94 Isuzu Trooper automatic. Itll go in gear and coast under idle when you let off the brake, but when you hit the gas, you get nothing. I checked for stall speed and so far it doesnt seem to have one (getting up to 4k rpm, which i feel for a 3.2 V6 is extremely high) but I also dont find any specifications on the stall speed in these. Also noticed, was when you put it in gear (drive or reverse), you get a groan/rattle noise, but not in park or neutral. Reading some torque converter failure posts on forums, I'm being lead to believe that the torque converter has failed and the groan/rattle is the stator not catching properly, thus why it doesnt move with gas applied.

I dont think it's the low band, because that only applies to 1st and 2nd in the 4L30E, but this vehicle has a winter mode selector that locks the transmission into 3rd and 4th only to prevent excess wheel spin in slippery conditions. In winter mode, I get the same results.

The previous owner said the problems started when he was driving one day and there was a large pop/clang and the vehicle quit moving ever since. So should I just assume the torque converter internally grenaded itself?

You need to turn off the AC and radio to hear it, but it is there.
