Maybe it would’ve been better if she curled up in a ball, never once did the sport she’d dedicated her youth to and allowed the organization to go on without being called out for its failings, you know like a classy girl. People always try to take away from the original comment. Yes Simone Biles is an inspiration for BLACK GIRLS EVERYWHERE.
In a sport, that for decades has predominantly been 99.9% white yes she is an inspiration for BLACK GIRLS.
In the past many BLACK GIRLS steered away from gymnastics because it was 1) not accessible in our communities and 2) too expensive to afford.
Yes it is true that Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles have inspired girls of ALL racial backgrounds to be gymnast. But in particular they both have inspired and given new hope to BLACK GIRLS that they too can be a Simone Biles or Gabby Douglass. People kill me...
